The diameter of 10 inch PVC pipe is 254 mm.
In pipe specifications, there are usually two ways to express the size: one is inches and the other is millimeters. There is a fixed conversion relationship between the two methods, that is, 1 inch equals 25.4 mm. Therefore, when we mention 10 inch PVC pipe, it actually means that its diameter is 10 times 25.4 mm, that is, 254 mm. This representation method is very common in pipeline engineering to ensure that the standards and specifications of different countries or regions can be unified for easy design and construction.
Function
PVC pipe, the full name of which is polyvinyl chloride pipe, is a widely used pipe material that is favored for its corrosion resistance, durability, and high cost-effectiveness. PVC pipe performs well in a variety of application scenarios such as water supply, drainage, and irrigation. Its specifications are diverse, and it can provide suitable solutions for small-diameter wire pipes to large-diameter drain pipes.
10 inch PVC pipe is mainly used for water supply and drainage needs in industry and large-scale construction projects.
10 inch PVC pipe is often used in industry and large construction projects due to its larger diameter, which can meet higher water supply and drainage needs. The diameter and wall thickness of this type of pipe can adapt to high pressure and high flow working conditions, ensuring the efficiency and stability of water supply and drainage in these complex environments.
Production process
1. Raw material preparation, the main raw material of 10 inch PVC pipe is polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. The resin needs to be prepared in a certain proportion, and some auxiliary materials such as plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, etc. can be added according to the purpose of the pipe.
2. Mixing, put the resin and auxiliary materials into the mixer and mix them evenly. Mixing takes a certain amount of time to ensure that the various raw materials are fully integrated
3. Extrusion molding, after the mixing is completed, the mixed material is sent to the extruder. The extruder heats the material to a molten state and pushes the molten material into the mold by the rotation of the screw
In the mold, the molten material is subjected to a certain pressure and temperature to form a pipe of a certain size, shape and thickness. The mold can be set with multiple measuring holes as needed: used to control the size of the pipe.
4. Cooling and curing, the extruded pipe needs to be cured by cooling. Usually, the cooling process is accelerated by water immersion or air cooling. The cooling speed and time need to be determined according to different pipe sizes and thicknesses to ensure the quality of the pipe.
5. Cutting: Cut the cooled and solidified pipe into appropriate lengths as needed. Manual or automatic cutting machines can be used to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of cutting.
Advantages
1. Compressive and tensile strength: 10 inch PVC pipe has good compressive and tensile strength and can withstand high-pressure environments without deformation or rupture, which makes it an ideal choice in the industry, construction, and municipal engineering, ensuring the safe operation and durability of the pipeline system.
2. Fluid friction resistance: Since the wall of the PVC pipe is very smooth, its resistance to the fluid is very small, and the roughness coefficient is only 0.009, which makes its water delivery capacity 20% higher than that of cast iron pipes of the same diameter and 40% higher than that of concrete pipes, ensuring smooth water flow, not easy to block, and reducing the maintenance workload.
3. Corrosion resistance and chemical resistance: PVC pipe has excellent acid resistance, alkali resistance, and corrosion resistance, and will not be affected by moisture and soil pH. No anti-corrosion treatment is required when laying the pipe, and it is suitable for various corrosive environments.
4. Watertightness: Whether it is connected by bonding or rubber ring, 10 inch PVC pipe has good watertightness, ensuring the stability and reliability of the pipeline system.
5. PVC pipe also has self-extinguishing properties and a low linear expansion coefficient, small deformation under temperature, small thermal conductivity and elastic modulus, and excellent anti-freezing performance compared with cast iron drainage pipes.
