Project Background
Tanzania, one of the largest countries in East Africa, has an extremely uneven distribution of water resources, and many rural areas have long faced water shortages. In order to improve people’s livelihood and promote economic development, the Tanzanian government actively promotes the rural water supply project, and plans to lay an extensive pipeline network to deliver clean water to thousands of households.
Project Challenges
Complex terrain: Tanzania has a variety of terrains, including highlands, mountains, plains, etc., which puts high demands on pipeline laying and connection technology.
Climatic conditions: Tropical grassland climate, with distinct dry and rainy seasons, the pipeline needs to withstand high temperatures, strong ultraviolet rays and rainwater washout test.
Long transport distance: the project site is relatively backward in terms of transport infrastructure, the pipeline transport distance is long and the cost is high.

With rich international engineering experience and professional piping solutions, P&W International successfully won the bid for a rural water supply project in Tanzania. The project adopts HDPE pipelines, mainly based on the following advantages:
Excellent corrosion resistance: HDPE pipes can resist the erosion of various chemicals in the soil and have a service life of more than 50 years, which is especially suitable for the complex geological conditions in Tanzania.
Good flexibility and impact resistance: HDPE pipes are easy to bend and adapt to complex terrain, and have good impact resistance, effectively reducing the risk of breakage during transport and installation.
Lightweight and easy to install: Compared with traditional steel pipes, HDPE pipes are lightweight and easy to connect, which can significantly reduce construction difficulties and costs.

Project Implementation
Puhui set up a professional project management team, overcame a series of difficulties in transport, customs clearance, construction, etc., and successfully completed the production and transport of HDPE pipes. The project adopted advanced electrofusion connection technology to ensure the reliability and sealing of the pipeline connection. In the end, the project was completed ahead of schedule and successfully solved the drinking water problem of tens of thousands of local residents, which was highly praised by the Tanzanian government and the public.
