Description of common PE pipe connection methods
PE is polyethylene plastic, which is the most basic material that can be used to make plastic bags, plastic wrap and various plastic tubes. PE pipes have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high and low temperature performance, so they can be used in a wide range of applications. PE pipes are connected with different pipes and fittings in different ways. Generally speaking, there are five ways.
1. Hot melt connection
Use a special heating tool to heat the part of the pipe and fitting to be connected under strong pressure. After melting, remove the heating tool, apply pressure to connect the two contact surfaces, and keep it for a period of time until the joint cools down.
2. Electrofusion connection
Use the special electric fusion pipe fitting with embedded resistance wire to energize the connecting parts of the two connecting pipe fittings, use the resistance wire to heat it to melt it into one, and only the joint is cooled.
3. Flange connection
Flange connection is mainly used for the connection of polyethylene pipes and metal pipes or valves, flow meters, pressure gauges and other ancillary equipment. It is mainly composed of polyethylene flange connectors, steel or aluminum back pressure loop flanges, steel or aluminum flanges, gaskets or sealing rings, bolts, nuts, etc., by tightening bolts and nuts, Make the flange connection parts and the flange pieces in close contact to achieve the purpose of connection.
4. Socket type flexible connection
Insert one end of the polyethylene pipe directly into the special socket of the pipe or pipe fitting, compress the locking ring in the socket to resist pulling out, and the rubber sealing ring to compress and seal, so as to achieve the purpose of tightly connecting the pipe and pipe fittings.
5. Steel-plastic transition joint connection
Use steel-plastic transition joints prefabricated by cold pressing or other methods to connect polyethylene pipes and metal pipes. There are locking rings and sealing rings that are resistant to pulling out in the steel-plastic transition joint. Generally, its sealing performance, pulling resistance, and pressure resistance are greater than those of polyethylene pipes in the system.
