Project Background
As one of the most densely populated cities in the world, Hong Kong’s underground drainage system carries a huge load. Due to the long history of urban development, some of the underground pipes are prone to leakage, blockage or even collapse due to aging, corrosion or tree root intrusion. To ensure the efficient operation of the drainage system and to prevent unexpected incidents, the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department (DSD) has in recent years widely adopted the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) sewer inspection technology in conjunction with Puhui’s PE100RC (High Density Polyethylene) double co-extruded pipelines for rehabilitation and upgrading.

What is CCTV sewer inspection?
CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) here refers specifically to pipeline closed-circuit television inspection systems, rather than traditional security monitoring. CCTV works by placing robotic crawlers equipped with high-definition cameras, lighting and sensors inside the pipe, capturing real-time images of the inside of the pipe and transmitting them to a ground console。
