The principle is to heat two pipe ends to a designated temperature, and then fuse them together by application of sufficient force. Role of HDPE Butt Fusion Welding Machines

HDPE Butt Fusion Welding Machines are specialized welding machines that use heat fusion buttressing technology for thermoplastic pipes and fittings such as HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Welding This welding method melts the HDPE material by heating it, and then cools and solidifies it under pressure, resulting in a strong connection of the materials. The design and manufacture of a heat fusion butt welder is carefully considered to ensure the stability and reliability of the welding process, thus ensuring the quality and strength of the welded joint.

Usage

  1. Check the machine: Before use, make sure all parts are intact and installed in place. Check whether the heating bar and pressure roller are normal.
  2. Preparation: Clean and level the surface of the HDPE film or pipe to be welded, and make sure there is no dust, oil, or other dirt on the surface.
  3. Adjust the temperature: Adjust the temperature of the hot melt machine according to the thickness and complexity of the HDPE film or pipe. Usually, the temperature range is 180°C to 220°C.
  4. Start the hot melt machine: Press the power switch, and the hot melt machine will start heating. During the heating process, the thermometer will display the current temperature.
  5. Wait for preheating: Before starting to weld, wait for the hot melt machine to preheat to the set temperature. The warm-up time is usually between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the model and specifications of the hot melt machine.
  6. Start Welding: Place the HDPE membrane or pipe in the weld area of the heat fusion machine, align the two edges, and make sure that there is no looseness or wavy effect.
  7. Perform welding: Close the lid of the hot melt machine and allow the heating rod and pressure roller to contact the HDPE membrane or pipe. Adjust the welding speed and pressure as needed.
  8. Finish welding: When the two edges of the membrane or pipe are heated and compressed together, the heat fusion machine will automatically stop heating. Wait for some time until the weld cools down, then open the lid of the hot melt machine.
  9. Check the quality of the weld: Check whether the weld is even and strong. If there are problems, the welding can be redone.
  10. Turn off the hot melt machine: After welding is completed, press the power switch to turn off the hot melt machine.

Precautions for Using HDPE Butt Fusion Welding Machines

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eyeglasses when operating Butt Fusion Welding Machines.

For heat fusion butt welding of HDPE pipes, it is also necessary to make sure that the weld cut-off surface is 90° to vertical and clean the interface end of the pipe and the fitting, plane the connection surface, and check the gap is not more than 0.3mm. Place the heating tool between the two connection surfaces and apply a certain pressure until it melts to form a smooth and symmetrical flange along the entire outer circumference of the pipe.‌
