What is C900 pipe?

C900 pipe is a pipe made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material, which is widely used in water supply and drainage systems. C900 represents the standard model of pipes, which are usually used in pressure systems. It complies with the standards of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), especially ASTM D1785 and ASTM D2241. C900 pipes have the advantages of corrosion resistance, strong pressure resistance, and easy installation, so they have become an indispensable type of pipes in modern water supply, sewage discharge, and municipal engineering.

Compared with traditional steel pipes and cast iron pipes, C900 pipes have higher corrosion resistance. Steel pipes and cast iron pipes often rust and damage due to exposure to humid and corrosive environments, while the PVC material of C900 pipes can effectively avoid these problems and ensure long-term and stable use.

Structure and characteristics of C900 pipe

C900 pipe is usually made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material. The main advantages of PVC are strong corrosion resistance, light weight and easy construction. The inner wall of PVC pipe is smooth, the friction coefficient is small, the loss of fluid is small when passing through, and it has good flow control ability. Unlike traditional metal pipes, C900 pipes are usually connected by socket connection or flange connection. The construction process is fast and can greatly save time and labor costs.

C900 pipe has the following important characteristics:

1. Strong corrosion resistance: PVC material is not easily corroded by chemicals in water (such as chlorine, acid and alkali, etc.), so it is particularly suitable for water systems in various harsh environments.

2. Light weight: C900 pipes are lighter than steel pipes or cast iron pipes, which is easy to carry and install, reducing the difficulty of transportation and construction.

3. High pressure bearing capacity: C900 pipes have a higher pressure rating and are suitable for water supply systems that withstand a certain pressure, which can ensure the stable operation of the system under high pressure.

4. Economical: Compared with steel pipes or cast iron pipes, C900 pipe has lower manufacturing and transportation costs, and lower maintenance costs in long-term use.

C900 pipe price

C900 pipe price is mainly affected by factors such as material, specification and market demand. Generally speaking, the price of C900 pipe is cheaper than traditional metal pipe, and because the manufacturing technology of PVC pipe is relatively mature, the production efficiency is high and the market supply is sufficient, the price of C900 pipe is relatively stable.

Taking the current market price as a reference, the price of C900 pipe is usually priced according to the diameter and length of the pipe. For example, some common C900 pipes with a diameter of 4 inches to 12 inches are priced between US$10 and US$40 per meter. Of course, the price will also vary depending on different suppliers, regions and pressure levels of the pipe. For pipes that require customized sizes or special performance, the price may increase accordingly.

It should be noted that the overall cost of C900 pipe also includes installation, transportation, accessories and other costs. In some large projects, the installation cost of C900 pipes will account for a certain proportion, so these factors usually need to be considered comprehensively in the project budget.

Pressure rating of C900 pipes

C900 pipes are divided into multiple models according to different pressure ratings. Pressure rating refers to the maximum pressure that the pipe can withstand under normal working conditions. Its common pressure ratings are 150 psi, 200 psi and 250 psi, which means that the pipe can withstand pressures of 150 pounds per square inch, 200 pounds per square inch and 250 pounds per square inch respectively.

In practical applications, the choice of pipes with different pressure ratings needs to be determined based on the design pressure of the system. If the environmental pressure of the pipe is high, a C900 pipe with a higher pressure rating needs to be selected; on the contrary, when the pressure is low, a pipe with a lower pressure rating can be selected.

Common C900 pipe pressure ratings are as follows:

1.150 psi (PN10): Suitable for low-pressure systems, usually used in urban water supply systems, irrigation systems, etc.

2.200 psi (PN13): Suitable for medium-pressure systems, which can be used in general industrial and municipal water supply systems.

3.250 psi (PN16): Suitable for high-pressure systems, usually used in water systems that need to withstand higher pressures, such as water supply for high-rise buildings.

Application fields

Due to its high pressure bearing capacity and corrosion resistance, C900 pipes are widely used in various water conservancy projects, water supply systems, sewage discharge systems, etc. The following are some typical application fields:

Urban water supply: C900 pipes are widely used in urban water supply systems, which can ensure the stability and safety of water flow, and are particularly suitable for scenarios where long-distance water transportation is required.

Agricultural irrigation: In agricultural irrigation systems, the high corrosion resistance and good fluid flow performance of C900 pipes make it an ideal choice for agricultural irrigation.

Industrial pipelines: C900 pipes are also widely used in pipeline systems in chemical, pharmaceutical, and electric power industries. Especially in some highly corrosive environments, C900 pipes can effectively avoid the corrosion of metal pipes.

Sewage treatment and discharge: In sewage treatment systems, C900 pipes can provide efficient drainage capacity, and their corrosion resistance allows them to maintain good performance in long-term use.

Fire protection system: In the fire protection systems of some high-rise buildings and industrial parks, C900 pipes are also used for water transportation to ensure the supply of fire protection water.

C900 pipe is a high-performance polyvinyl chloride pipe. With its excellent corrosion resistance, light weight, high pressure bearing capacity, and economy, it is widely used in water supply, drainage, agricultural irrigation, sewage treatment, and other fields. Its price is relatively reasonable and its maintenance cost is low in long-term use. It is an ideal choice in modern pipeline engineering. With the advancement of technology and the increase in demand, the application prospect of C900 pipe will be more extensive and become one of the important development directions of the pipeline industry in the future.
